Royal Kashmiri Walnuts is located at 93 Post Office Road in Rajbagh. Being near the post office makes it easy for people to find us. When you walk into our place, the first thing you notice is the smell of walnuts. It is a clean, woody scent that fills up the whole room. We spend a lot of our time sorting through the shells and making sure only the good stuff gets packed. The weather in Rajbagh can get quite chilly, so we often have a small heater going in the corner while we work. There are bags of nuts stacked up against the walls, almost reaching the ceiling sometimes. We use old-fashioned scales for some things because they still work just fine. It is a family-run feel here, even if we are not all related. We sit around the large wooden tables and talk while we work. The windows look out onto the street, and we watch the neighbors go by. It is a steady pace, nothing too rushed, but we do not slack off either. People come in from the neighborhood to buy a kilo or two, and we always have time for a quick conversation. It is a simple business. We do not have a website with flashy photos. We just have our shop on Post Office Road where we handle the walnuts and try to keep everything tidy. It is just what we do every day.
