Gulistan Musical Group

Our group is based in Dalgate, right in the heart of Srinagar. Specifically, we are over in Mohalla Khajabab Sahib in the Buchwara area. Music is what we do. We have been performing for quite some time now. Usually, it is for weddings, local festivals, or private gatherings. We are a group of locals who enjoy playing and singing. Living and working in Dalgate means we are close to the water and the center of the city. It is a beautiful place to be. We often practice in our space when we are not out at a venue. Sometimes we travel a bit outside the city for shows, but mostly we stay around Srinagar. People know us in the neighborhood. We don't have some big corporate setup. It is just us and our instruments. When someone has a celebration and wants live music, they give us a call. We show up and do our best to make the evening pleasant. Every performance is a bit different depending on the crowd. We have seen many changes in the city over the years, but the music stays the same. It is a nice way to make a living. We enjoy meeting new people at every event. If you are walking through the lanes of Buchwara, you might hear us practicing. We take things as they come and focus on the songs we know well.
