At Sri Agnostic Tiles Cutting, things stay pretty busy throughout the day. We are located at Shop No.05 in Udyog Vihar. You can find us right near the Government Hospital, which is a good landmark for people who aren't familiar with this side of the industrial area. The sound of the saws cutting through stone and ceramic is pretty constant from eight in the morning until we close up. We have a couple of water-cooled machines that do most of the heavy lifting. It gets quite wet and messy in the shop, so we are always wearing rubber boots and aprons. I have been cutting tiles for a long time now and my hands are pretty rough from the work. We get all sorts of people coming in with crates of tiles they bought elsewhere that need to be resized for a kitchen or a bathroom. We don't have a big showroom or anything like that. It’s just a workspace with some workbenches and piles of offcuts in the corners. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon, and we just sit outside the shop and wait for it to come back on. It gives us a chance to talk to the other shop owners in the row. We just try to get the orders done as they come in. There is no real system beyond a stack of paper receipts on a metal spike near the door.
