Khosa Tiles

Our place is in Ward No 04, over in Jwala Colony. If you know New Gharsana, you probably know where we sit. It’s a lot of heavy lifting here at Khosa Tiles. We have stacks of ceramic and stone piled up outside and inside. It’s hard work on the back, moving these crates around all day. The dust from the tiles gets on everything, so we wear old clothes and just get on with it. We get people from all over the Taluka coming in to see what we have in stock. Some want something for a small bathroom, others are doing a whole house. We don’t have a fancy showroom with lights. It’s more of a warehouse feel where you can see the actual piles of stock. The weather gets hot here in the district, so we try to get the heavy loading done early in the morning. My hands are usually covered in grit by lunchtime. We just show people the patterns and tell them how many boxes are left. It’s a straightforward business. We don't use big words or try to push people into buying. They know what they need for their floors. Sometimes we sit on the stacks and have a chat with the truck drivers who bring the new loads. It’s just regular life in Gharsana for us, keeping the inventory moving and helping the neighbors build their homes.
