Viswam High School

If you walk down Brahmin Street in Nayudupeta, you'll find us in the Viswam Buildings-P. This is Viswam High School, and we’ve been part of this Nellore district neighborhood for a while now. The 524126 area has a very traditional feel to it, especially on this street. The buildings are older and they sit close together, so there is a real sense of being in the heart of the town. I like the walk to work because you see the same faces every day. Inside the Viswam Buildings, it can get a bit cramped when all the students are moving between classes, but we’ve learned how to manage the flow. The rooms have high ceilings and the fans hum all day long to keep the heat at bay. We don't have a massive campus with fields, but we make use of every inch of space we have. I usually spend my lunch break sitting near one of the windows that looks out onto Brahmin Street, watching the cycles and scooters go by. It’s a noisy, lively place to be. The school doesn't look like those fancy modern offices you see in the big cities; it’s more lived-in and honest. We put a lot of effort into keeping the place running, from fixing the plumbing to organizing the cupboards. It’s a busy life here in Nayudupeta, but it feels right to be part of this community.
