Sri Gayatri English Medium School

Our school is tucked away in Maruthi Nagar, over in Podalakur. It’s a quiet enough spot in Nellore, mostly residential houses around us. Sri Gayatri English Medium School has got the English medium classes going on from the morning until the afternoon. It’s mostly local families who send their children here. The building isn't huge, but we make it work for the number of students we have. You’ll find us easily if you follow the main road into the colony. Some of the teachers have been with us for years and they know most of the families by name. It’s a bit of a routine, really. Bells ring, kids line up, and then they head into the classrooms. We have some desks that are a bit old and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but the kids don't seem to mind much. During the monsoon, the yard gets a bit muddy, but that’s just how it goes here. We aren't trying to be the biggest school around, just a place for the neighborhood kids to learn their lessons. Most afternoons, you'll see parents waiting outside the gate on their scooters to pick everyone up. It gets pretty crowded for twenty minutes then goes back to being silent again. It is a simple place where we just focus on the daily teaching work.
