Orient Craft

Down in Raj Nagar II, near Palam, you’ll find us at Rzf 710/2. This part of New Delhi is pretty unique because you can hear the planes from the airport all the time. It becomes background noise after a while, but visitors always notice it. Orient Craft operates out of a simple building that blends in with everything else on the street. We don’t have a fancy lobby or a guard at the door. You just walk in and you’re right in the middle of where we work. There are usually boxes stacked near the entrance waiting to be picked up. The rooms are a bit cramped because we try to fit a lot into a small space. We have a few old fans that help a little when the Delhi heat gets really bad. The walls are decorated with old calendars and maybe a few notes scribbled directly on the paint. We aren't trying to impress anyone with our decor. We just need a place to sit and manage our craft business. The street outside is usually dusty and there’s always some construction happening nearby. It is a very practical, no-nonsense kind of place. We start early and usually stay until the light fades. We know the local shopkeepers and often borrow tools or supplies from each other. It’s a real community feel here in Raj Nagar, and we are just happy to be a small part of it. We take each day as it comes and try our best.
