Om Shakti Jute Products

We’ve been running Om Shakti Jute Products for a while now here in Vasant Kunj at C-9/9391. It’s mostly bags and things made from jute. The shop isn't huge, but we keep it pretty packed with stock. Most days start with us checking what came in and making sure the stacks are neat, though they never stay that way for long. Jute is a bit messy sometimes with all the fibers, but it’s sturdy stuff. People come by looking for something simple they can use for groceries or carrying their lunch to work. We don't have a big fancy showroom or anything like that. It's just a regular space where we get the work done. The heat in Delhi gets pretty bad in the afternoons, so we usually keep the fans going full blast. We handle the orders as they come and try to keep things moving. Sometimes the delivery trucks have a hard time finding the exact spot in this part of Vasant Kunj, but we’ve lived here long enough to give them directions over the phone. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting bundles and counting out pieces for customers. We just keep our heads down and do what needs doing. It’s a quiet life for the most part, except when the big orders come in and everyone is rushing around. We like the material we work with because it feels real and doesn't break easily. That’s about it for us.
