The Indian Navy has this particular office for staff officers over at Flats No 24 on Satya Marg in Chanakyapuri. Being located in the heart of the diplomatic area of New Delhi means the surroundings are quite nice and well-kept, with lots of trees and wide roads. This isn't a massive naval base with ships and sailors everywhere; it’s more of an administrative and residential hub for the officers who are stationed in the capital. The work involves a lot of coordination, planning, and keeping track of various naval affairs from a distance. The office inside the flat is functional and tidy, as you might expect from a military branch. There’s a certain routine to the day that everyone follows strictly. We spend a lot of time on reports and communicating with other departments across the city. Even though it’s a government office, it feels a bit more personal because of the residential setting. You can hear the birds outside, and it’s a lot calmer than the busier parts of Delhi. We have our daily tea breaks and talk about things other than work sometimes. It’s a place of discipline but also one where we’ve worked together long enough to feel like a small team. We just keep the wheels turning and make sure the officers have what they need to do their jobs effectively. It is a quiet but steady part of the city.
