Harvest Gold

Our place is at F-213/C in Lado Sarai. It’s not the easiest spot to find if you aren't familiar with the twists and turns of these lanes. We’ve got the ovens going early, way before most people are even awake. By the time the sun is up, the whole area smells like baking bread. It’s a hot job, especially in the summer, standing near those big machines all day. We have the delivery trucks backed up as close as they can get to the door to load up the fresh batches. There’s always flour on someone’s clothes or on the floor, no matter how much we sweep. It’s a practical space, meant for work, not for showing off. We have a small area where we keep the records, but mostly it’s just the production floor. The walls have some marks from where the carts have bumped into them over the years. It’s noisy and busy, with people shouting to be heard over the hum of the mixers. We don't have a storefront where you can sit down; it’s more of a hub where everything gets made and sent out. We just focus on getting the dough right and making sure the trucks leave on time so people get their bread while it’s still fresh. It’s hard work, but it’s what we do.
