Chinese Language Expert

I am located over at 206 Kaveri Hostel inside the Jawaharlal Nehru University campus in New Delhi. This is the spot where Chinese Language Expert is based out of. Being in a hostel like Kaveri means the environment is always full of students and books. It is not your typical office building in a commercial district. Instead, it is a room filled with dictionaries, papers, and a laptop that is almost always running. The Haryana heat reaches us here too, and the ceiling fan spends most of the year spinning as fast as it can. JNU is a huge place with lots of trees and old buildings, and staying here gives a certain kind of focus to the work. I spend hours looking at characters and translating texts from one page to another. The desk is a bit small and cluttered with pens that sometimes run out of ink at the wrong moment. People walk by in the hallway talking about their classes or where to get lunch. It is a simple life of studying and working with words. There are no big signs on the door, just a room number and a lot of concentration. Sometimes I take a break to walk around the campus when my eyes get tired from the screen. It is a quiet way to handle a language business in such a big city.
