If you head down to Benaulim Beach in Salcette, you will find us at the Jupiter Resort & Spa. It is a beautiful spot, right there at Caluwaddo. Sudhir Pattnaik handles the operations here, and he is usually running around making sure the grounds look okay and the guests are happy. Even though we have a connection back to Singapore, the vibe here is pure Goa. It is a lot of work keeping a resort running 24/7. The salt air from the beach is nice, but it sure does a number on the paint and the fixtures, so someone is always fixing something. We spend our days dealing with room bookings, the kitchen staff, and making sure the pool stays clean. It is not all lounging under palm trees like people think. There is a lot of behind-the-scenes stress, especially during the peak season when every room is full and the humidity is high. We have a lot of local staff who have been with us for years. They know the beach like the back of their hand. We try to keep things relaxed for the people staying with us, but in the back office, it is all lists and phone calls. Sometimes the power goes out or the rain comes down so hard you can't hear yourself think, but that's just part of being in this part of India. It is a good place to work if you like the ocean and don't mind a bit of chaos.
