Alila

I’ve been around T. Nagar for a while now. Running Alila here is what keeps me busy most days. It’s a busy part of town, you know? People are always rushing past. We are just tucked in here on a side street. It’s not a big fancy place by any means. Just us doing what we do every day. Some days are quieter than others. I really like the morning time before the traffic gets really bad on the main roads. It feels more peaceful then. People stop in, we talk a bit about the weather or the local news, and then they go on with their day. We’ve got a small space, but it works for what we need. Sometimes the air conditioner acts up when it gets really hot, but we manage with a fan. T. Nagar has changed a lot over the years. There are more buildings and more noise now. But Alila is still here in the same spot. My cousin used to help out a few years ago, but now it’s mostly me and another guy. We don't really do much advertising or anything. People just find us or they’ve been coming for years and tell their friends. It’s funny how that works. You just stay in one spot and eventually, people know you’re there. We keep the place tidy as best as we can. It’s hard with all the dust from the street. But it’s home for us.
