Our place is at 8-B on the basement floor along the Main Mathura Road in Jangpura. Homestead Agrology Farmers Private Limited is the name on the door, but most people just know us as the guys in the basement office near the flyover. Being on Mathura Road means there is a constant hum of traffic outside, but being in the basement actually keeps things surprisingly quiet and cool. We work with farmers and deal with the science and logistics of agrology. It’s a lot of technical stuff mixed with regular business problems. We have a few desks and some old chairs, and the walls are mostly covered with maps and calendars. It’s a bit cluttered, but we know where everything is. We spend our mornings catching up on emails and our afternoons usually involve more phone calls than we’d like. Working in Jangpura is convenient because we are close to South Delhi and the main transport routes. We don't have any fancy mission statements or corporate goals written on the walls. We just want to make sure the work we do for the farmers is solid and that the bills get paid on time. It can be a long day, especially when the traffic on Mathura Road is at a standstill, but we’ve been doing this for a while and we’ve found our rhythm. It’s a practical, no-nonsense kind of office.
