Wasim Ahmed

I'm Wasim Ahmed and my spot is located at E-213/9, on the first floor. It’s right in Shahin Bagh, near the Okhla Head area of Jamia Nagar in New Delhi. It’s a very busy part of town, always full of people and the smell of good food from the nearby shops. My office is up one flight of stairs, which keeps it a little bit quieter than the street level, though you can still hear the rickshaws and the shouting from below all day long. I’ve been here for a while and I’ve seen how the area has become so crowded over the years. I don’t have a big corporate setup with glass walls and receptionists. My space is practical, filled with the tools and papers I need to get through the day. I usually start quite early before the sun gets too high and stay late when the market outside really picks up and the lights come on. I don't go in for all those motivational slogans or fancy mission statements that you see in bigger companies. To me, work is just about getting the job done right so people are satisfied. Some days the electricity cuts out or the internet gets wonky, but that’s just life in Delhi-25. You learn to work around it and keep going. I value the relationships I’ve built with people around here. It’s a tight-knit community, and I’m just glad to be a part of it, doing my bit every day from my small office upstairs.
