Vishaka Mohan

I am based in B-203 of the Kaveri Apartments, which is in the Alaknanda area of New Delhi. It is a residential neighborhood, so it is a lot quieter than the main commercial hubs of the city. My office is actually part of where I live, so the atmosphere is very relaxed. There are trees outside the window and you can see the kids playing in the park below during the evenings. I have a dedicated corner with a desk and some shelves where I keep all my professional stuff. The Kaveri Apartments are quite old now, but they are well-maintained. I sometimes run into my clients at the local grocery store near Alaknanda, which can be a bit awkward if I am just out buying milk in my casual clothes. But that is just part of living and working in the same neighborhood. It is nice because I do not have to deal with a commute, though sometimes it is hard to stop working when your desk is right there. I do not have any staff or a big corporate lobby. If someone comes by, we usually just sit in the living area and talk. The apartment is comfortable but it gets a bit cluttered with documents and folders when I am in the middle of a big project. I have been here for a few years and the security guards at the gate know me well. Working from Alaknanda is peaceful, which helps when I need to focus on complex tasks. It's just a simple, home-based operation.
