Ultratech Cement

Our place is tucked away in Jaitpur Extn Part 2 over in Badarpur. If you know Delhi, you know how the traffic can be around here. We are at G 461 and it is usually a hub of activity from the moment we open the shutters. The dust from the road mixes with the cement dust, so things stay pretty gritty. We have a small crew that helps with the heavy lifting and getting the bags loaded onto the smaller tempos that can fit through the lanes. It isn't a very large space but we make it work by stacking things high. Most of our day is spent on the phone or talking to contractors who come in looking for materials for their local projects. The New Delhi heat in the summer makes the work heavy, but we just keep going. We have a small fan that mostly just moves the warm air around. People stop by frequently because we are right in the residential patch. We try to keep things organized but with so many deliveries coming and going, the place can look a bit messy by the afternoon. We don’t mind it much. It’s just the way things are in a busy part of town like this. We just focus on the task at hand and try to get home before the evening rush gets too bad. It is a simple life of managing stock and dealing with the city noise.
