Techcom Technologies is based at Y-40 in Okhla Industrial Area Phase 2. If you know the industrial zones in Delhi, you know exactly what it’s like. It’s a place of constant movement. We spend our days dealing with various technology projects. The building at Y-40 is pretty sturdy, which is good because the vibrations from the nearby units can be a lot. Inside, we have a mix of old equipment and newer stuff we've picked up over the years. It’s not a fancy tech startup with bean bags; it’s a real workplace with metal desks and heavy-duty shelving. Most of us have been here long enough that we know all the local shortcuts to avoid the worst of the traffic on the main roads. We get a lot of deliveries, so the front area is usually cluttered with boxes and packing material. We try to keep it tidy, but work gets in the way. It’s a practical atmosphere where the focus is on the tasks at hand. People come by for meetings and we usually just sit in the small break room because the main area is too noisy. We’ve grown used to the rhythm of the industrial estate. It’s got its own kind of energy. Being located at Y-40 works for us because it’s central to many of our suppliers. We just keep doing what we’ve always done, day in and day out, without making a big deal of it.
