Singhaar

We’ve been at D 37 in the Old Double Storey area of Lajpat Nagar for quite some time now. Singhaar is just a small place, really. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we spend most of our time dealing with the stock instead of decorating. Lajpat Nagar is always crowded, especially on weekends, so it gets a bit hectic around here with all the noise. We see all kinds of people coming through our door. Some are just looking around to pass the time, while others know exactly what they want. My cousin helps me out behind the counter most afternoons. We keep the lights on until late usually. It’s not a corporate setup at all. We just have our own regular ways of doing things. Sometimes the inventory gets a bit messy when we get a big delivery, and we have to stack boxes in the corner until we can sort through them. It’s a lived-in space. You might hear the neighbors talking through the walls or the sound of scooters zooming by outside. We don't have a big fancy website or anything like that. Most of our regulars live right here in the neighborhood. They stop by to chat as much as they do to buy anything. We’ve seen kids grow up and start coming in on their own. It’s a bit dusty sometimes because of the construction nearby, but that’s just part of being in this town.
