Nehru Place is a crazy place to work if you don't like noise. Our office is up on the fifth floor, room 508, in building 47 48. Getting up here can be a struggle when the lifts are full of people carrying heavy boxes of monitors or cables. We spend most of our time looking at screens and trying to figure out why things aren't working the way they should. It is not like a shop on the ground floor where people just walk in. Up here, it is more about people coming in with specific problems they need fixed. The desks are usually covered in bits of hardware and half-finished cups of coffee. We keep the windows shut because of the dust from the street below but you can still hear the shouting of the hawkers. Sometimes the air conditioning makes a weird rattling noise but we just ignore it. Sgi Internet Technologies is just a bunch of us working through the day. We don't have a fancy reception desk or someone to greet you. You just walk in and tell us what you need. Most of our regulars are other businesses from the same building or the one next door. We stay late most nights because that is when the internet seems to behave better. It is a bit of a maze in this building but once you find us, we are just doing our usual thing.
