Sapan Julka

You can find Sapan Julka over in Mehrauli, specifically in Ward Number 1 at 41-K. It’s a part of town that has been around forever, and you can really feel that when you walk down the lanes. The building we are in is older, but it holds up well enough for what we need. Our room is 41-K, and it’s mostly filled with desks and a few shelves that are starting to bow under the weight of all the binders. We spend a lot of time just sorting through things and making sure everything is where it should be. The windows look out over the street, so you see all the local life passing by throughout the day. Mehrauli is pretty busy, and sometimes the power goes out for a bit, but we just wait it out or use the backup light. It's not a corporate skyscraper, that's for sure. We have a small rug in the middle of the floor that someone brought from home to make it feel a bit more comfortable. Most days are pretty much the same. We come in, check the messages, and get to it. The chai wallah comes by twice a day, and that’s usually when we take a break to talk about anything besides work. It’s a simple existence here. We do what needs doing and don't make a big deal out of it. It’s just home base for us while we handle our business in the city.
