Precious Arts & Jewels

Lajpat Nagar-III is a place that never really sleeps, and our shop at G-52 is right in the middle of it all. Precious Arts & Jewels isn't a massive department store, it’s more of a cozy space where we keep things we think are nice. We spend a lot of time cleaning the glass cases because fingerprints show up so easily under the lights. It’s a lot of sitting and waiting for customers some days, and then suddenly everyone comes in at once. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. It’s just us showing people what we have and helping them pick out something they like. Sometimes people just come in to browse and talk about the weather or how much the neighborhood has changed over the years. The chairs are old and a bit creaky but they are comfortable enough for a long chat. We try to keep the shop tidy but with all the small pieces we handle, something always seems to be out of place. Working with jewelry and art means you have to have a lot of patience. We've been here long enough that the other shopkeepers around us are like family. We share tea and keep an eye on each other's places. It is a good way to spend the day, even if the commute through the city traffic is a bit of a headache.
