Our spot is down in the basement at K-26 in Green Park Extension. It is a bit of a quiet place which is good for the kind of work we do with computers and systems. Being in a basement means we don't get much sunlight, but we have plenty of monitors glowing all day long. We spend most of our hours looking at screens and trying to fix bugs or setting up new programs for people. There are wires running everywhere along the floor and the sound of cooling fans is always in the background. Green Park is a nice neighborhood, so we usually step out for a bit of fresh air and a snack at the local stalls when our eyes get tired. We aren't a big team, just a few of us who know our way around a motherboard. Sometimes a client will call because their whole system crashed and we have to stay late to get it running again. It’s a lot of typing and clicking and drinking way too much coffee to stay awake. The office is pretty messy with spare parts and old keyboards lying around in corners. We don’t really go in for fancy meetings, we just sit down and get the work done. It’s a practical sort of life where if the machines are working, we are happy. Sometimes the air gets a bit stuffy down here but we have used fans to keep it moving for years now.
