Narang Confectionery

Narang Confectionery is right there at Ashram, in Hari Nagar. We are at number 90. It’s a small shop but we keep it stocked with whatever people in the neighborhood usually need. Most mornings start early when the bread and milk arrive. I’m usually there before the sun is fully up to get everything ready. It’s a lot of opening boxes and arranging jars on the shelves. The kids come by after school for small treats, and the older folks stop by in the evening to grab things for dinner. It’s a busy little corner. The shelves are a bit cramped because we try to fit a lot into a small space. I’ve lived around here for a long time, so I know most of the customers by name. We don't have a computer system or anything like that, just a simple register and a notebook. Sometimes the fridge acts up and we have to call the repair guy, which is always a bit of a pain. The floor gets dirty from people walking in, so I’m always sweeping. It’s not a fancy place, just a regular shop where you can get a cold drink or some snacks. I like being in Ashram because something is always happening outside. We just stay open until late and then lock up for the night. It’s a simple routine.
