Md Khurshidalam

Md Khurshidalam operates from M-5 in Abul Fazal Enclave. This is in the Jamia Nagar area of Okhla, New Delhi. We are on the 3rd floor, right at the front of the building. Being on the third floor front means we hear everything that happens on the street. The vegetable sellers, the bikes, and the people shouting. It’s very much a part of the Okhla life. The building is a bit cramped, like most places in Jamia Nagar. We have a small balcony where we sometimes stand just to get a bit of air. Inside, it’s just a couple of rooms filled with stuff. We have a computer that takes forever to start up. The walls have some marks on them from when we moved the furniture around last year. It’s not a place for fancy meetings. We just sit here and do the work. The electricity can be a bit temperamental in this part of Delhi, so we have some back-ups. Most of the people who come here are locals or people who know Md. Khurshid Alam personally. It’s a very informal way of running things. We don't have uniforms or anything like that. Just regular clothes and a regular routine.
