Magic Fingers

Our shop is in Shahpur Jat at C-56. If you know the area, you know how narrow the lanes are and how many people are always walking around. It’s a lively place, though it can be a bit overwhelming if you aren't used to the crowd. We call the place Magic Fingers because everything we do involves a lot of handwork and attention. It’s not a big factory like you see in other parts of Delhi. It’s more of a workshop where we sit and work on things throughout the day. The building is old but it has a bit of character to it. We often have people dropping by just to ask questions or see what we are making. Sometimes the light in the alleyway isn't great, so we have to use extra lamps to see what we are doing on the benches. We’ve been here at C-56 for quite some time now. Most of our day is spent at our tables, just getting through the tasks we have. It gets quite noisy on the weekends when more people visit Shahpur Jat to shop or eat. We don’t really have a front desk or anything formal. You just walk in and you’ll see us working. We try to keep the place as tidy as we can, but when you’re busy, tools and materials tend to end up everywhere. It’s just how it is when you’re working with your hands every day.
