You can find Lekh Raj Associates at Alaknanda Nilgiri Aparments 109. It’s a residential block, so it feels more like a home than a workplace. We have one main room where all the associates sit together. The furniture is a mix of stuff we’ve picked up over the years, nothing matches. There is a balcony where we keep some dying plants and take our breaks. Alaknanda is a nice area, but finding apartment 109 can be tricky for people the first time they visit. We’ve had to tell people to look for the blue door. Inside, it’s mostly just stacks of files and a couple of ceiling fans that squeak when they are on high. We aren't big on formality here. Most of the time we’re just in shirts and trousers, working through whatever is on the desks. We’ve been here in Nilgiri Apartments for a long time now. The neighbors know us and sometimes they stop by to chat. It’s a slow pace compared to the city center. We don’t have a big corporate sign out front, just a small nameplate near the bell. It gets a bit hot in the afternoons when the sun hits the windows, so we keep the curtains drawn. We handle things as they come. It’s a simple office for a small group of people who have worked together for a while. We just keep our heads down and get through the day.
