Kapil Pan Bhandar

Our little spot, Kapil Pan Bhandar, is right at the Sarita Vihar Main Chowk, near Ali Gaon. If you know the area, you know how busy that intersection gets with all the cars and bikes constantly honking at each other. We have been sitting here at this corner in Ali Vihar for a long time. It’s a small space, mostly just enough for us to stand and keep all the leaves and jars of spices organized. It’s pretty dusty outside because of the road, but we try to keep our counter as clean as possible for the customers. We open up early and stay open until quite late at night because that is when people usually want a pan after they finish their dinner. There are no fancy decorations or neon signs here. We just have our supplies and a small stool to sit on when there are no customers. Dealing with the heat in the summer is probably the hardest part of working here, but we have a small fan that helps a bit. We get a lot of laborers and office workers passing through the chowk. Everyone is usually in a hurry, so we have to work fast with our hands to keep the line moving. We don't have a website or anything like that. If someone wants to find us, they just come to the chowk. It’s a simple life, just mixing and wrapping all day long.
