You have to head to the second floor of the T-197/D building in Savitri Nagar to find us. We are right near Malviya Nagar in New Delhi, which is always a bit of a mess with the traffic and the crowds. The stairs are a bit narrow, so carrying the surveying tripods and the heavy equipment cases up and down is a bit of a workout every day. The office is packed with boxes of levels, GPS units, and prisms. It’s a bit of a squeeze when we get a new shipment in. We spend the mornings checking the batteries and making sure the lenses are clean. New Delhi is dusty, so we are constantly wiping down the gear. The staff sits at some old metal desks, and we have a small kettle for making tea when it gets cold in the winter. We get a lot of technicians coming in to have their tools looked at. It’s not a quiet place because there is always someone testing a beeping device or talking loudly over the noise from the street below. We try to keep things in order, but with so many small parts, it’s easy for things to get cluttered. We close up when the sun goes down and fight the commute back home like everyone else in the city. It’s just a regular spot for people who need their measuring gear sorted out.
