French Pestries

You can find us over in Abul Fazal Enclave, specifically at D-2 in Part 1 of Jamia Nagar. French Pestries isn't as fancy as the name might sound to some people; we are just a neighborhood bakery. Most of our day is spent around the ovens, which makes the shop stay pretty warm even when it’s cold outside. We deal with a lot of students from the university and families who live nearby. There is always flour on the floor and the smell of yeast in the air. We make cakes, some breads, and those little biscuits that people like with their tea. Sometimes a batch doesn't come out looking perfect, but it still tastes fine, so we might sell it for a bit less. We don't have a huge team, just a couple of us doing the mixing and the baking. It gets hectic around the holidays or when someone realizes they forgot to order a birthday cake until the last minute. We try to help them out if we can. The glass display cases always need cleaning because people are constantly pointing at what they want. It’s a lot of repetitive work, like cracking eggs and greasing pans, but it’s what we do. We aren't trying to be some high-end dessert place, just a local shop where you can get a decent pastry without spending too much.
