Freelance Content Writer

Being a writer in New Delhi means there is always noise around. I work out of my place on the second floor in Arjun Nagar. It is 47 E, and the stairs are a bit narrow and steep. I spend a lot of time typing away on my old laptop. Sometimes I look out the window and watch the neighbors going about their business. Writing takes a lot of focus, but I also get distracted by the sounds of the street vendors and the cars. I handle all kinds of topics. Whatever people need written, I try to get it done as best as I can. It’s a lot of sitting in one chair for hours. I’ve lived in this part of Delhi for a long time now. The space here is small but it fits my laptop, some notebooks, and too many pens. I don't have a boss telling me what to do, which is good, but I have to keep myself on track every single day. Sometimes I work late at night when it's finally quiet outside and the air is a bit cooler. My neighbors probably wonder why the light is always on at 3 AM. I just write. It’s not a glamorous job, but it pays the bills and keeps me busy. Sometimes I go for a walk to clear my head. New Delhi 29 is a busy area, full of life. I find that I get my best ideas when I’m not actually trying to think too hard. Writing is just something I do to get by.
