Over here in New Delhi, specifically at J-86 in Sourabh Vihar, life is pretty fast. Deepakkumar is situated in the Hari Nagar Extension area, which is near Badarpur. It’s a crowded part of the city, but that’s New Delhi for you. There’s always someone moving, a bike zipping past, or children playing in the lanes. Our spot is just a basic building in the middle of it all. We have the 110044 zip code. The walls are a bit thin, so you can hear the city life outside even when the door is shut. We don't have any polished marble floors or glass elevators. It’s just a simple room with the things we need to work. Most people who come by are locals or people who have business in the Badarpur area. It’s not a place for tourists or anything like that. We spend our hours here dealing with whatever comes across the desk. It can get dusty because of the construction nearby, so we spend a bit of time cleaning up every morning. Deepakkumar isn’t a name you’ll see on a giant billboard. It’s just written on the door. We prefer it that way. It’s honest and it’s where we are. We just keep our heads down and get through the list of tasks. If the tea man comes by, we take a break, otherwise, we’re usually at it until the sun goes down.
