You have to head down to the basement at 50 C Kalu Sarai Village to find our office. D S S India Ltd is located right there in the basement of DSS House, which is tucked away behind the Hauz Khas Bus Terminal. It is a bit of an unusual spot, being below ground level and all, but it stays surprisingly cool during the hot summer months, which is a real plus for us. Kalu Sarai is a very tight-knit kind of place, full of narrow lanes and people moving about constantly. We have been here for a long time, and the whole area feels like home. Being situated right behind the bus terminal means we hear the engines idling and the announcements all day long. It has become the standard background noise to our workday. Inside D S S India Ltd, it is mostly just rows of old desks and a lot of metal filing cabinets. We aren’t really set up for visitors who are looking for a big show. It is just a working office, plain and simple. Sometimes the lighting down in the basement is a bit dim, but we have our desk lamps to help us see. We just get on with things.
