Computer Operator

I set up this little spot at 415A/5 in Govind Puri, right here in the Kalkaji area of New Delhi 19. It’s a busy neighborhood, always something happening on the street outside. I’ve been working as a computer operator for quite a while now, mostly because I like the quiet work of typing and organizing files. The space is a bit cramped, honestly, because I have a lot of old manuals and paper stacks lying around. I should probably clean it up, but it works for me. People from the nearby blocks come in when they have something that needs to be done on a computer. Maybe it’s a resume or a government form, or just printing out some photos. New Delhi can be a hectic place to live, but inside these four walls, it’s just me and the monitor. I don't really do anything flashy. I just sit here and make sure the data is entered correctly. Sometimes the printer acts up and I have to spend twenty minutes fixing a paper jam, which is frustrating, but that’s part of the day. I’ve gotten used to the noise of the traffic on the main road. It’s a decent way to spend the day, helping out the locals with their digital errands. If you’re walking through Govind Puri, you’ll find me here most days. I usually keep the window slightly open for air, even though the dust comes in. It helps me stay awake during those long afternoons when the work gets a bit repetitive.
