Colorays

Our shop is on the ground floor over in Lajpat Nagar-I, at B-1/126. If you know the area, you know it’s always crowded and full of energy. We’ve got a small storefront where we keep most of the stuff, and it can get a bit tight when more than two people are inside. At Colorays, we deal with a lot of different shades and materials, so the walls are basically covered in color samples and fabric swatches. It’s not a polished boutique; it’s more of a working shop where we’re constantly measuring things out or helping someone find a specific match for their project. The ground floor location is great because we don't have to haul things up stairs, but we do get a lot of street dust coming in from the passing rickshaws. We keep a few chairs for people to sit on while they wait, though usually, we are too busy to sit down ourselves. The neighborhood has changed a lot over the years, but our little corner stays pretty much the same. We know the other shopkeepers around here, and we often share a quick meal or a cup of tea during the slow hours in the afternoon. It’s a simple life, really. We just show up, open the shutters, and start the day’s work. There’s always something to be sorted or a customer to attend to, and that keeps us busy from morning until we close up for the night and head home.
