Bpl Telecom Private Limited is up in 1304, Devika Tower, at 6 Nehru Place. Being on the 13th floor gives us a pretty good view of the chaos down below. If you’ve ever been to Nehru Place, you know it’s basically the heart of the computer and electronics world in Delhi. The elevators in this building can be a bit slow, so we usually tell people to give themselves an extra five minutes to get up here. Our office is a mix of old filing cabinets and new telecom gear sitting in boxes. It isn't a showpiece office, but it’s functional and we’ve got enough space for everyone to have a desk. We spend most of our time dealing with phone systems and corporate accounts. It can get pretty stressful when a big line goes down and we have to figure out why. There’s a lot of shouting across the room during those times. When things are quiet, we usually talk about where to get the best lunch in the market downstairs. There are so many food stalls around that it’s hard to choose. The carpet in here is a bit worn out in the spots where we walk the most. We’ve been part of the Nehru Place scene for a long time, and even though it’s crowded and dusty, we wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. It’s just how we operate. Sometimes we even work on Saturdays if there is a big project finishing up.
