Asian Traders & Engineers is based in Laxmi Bhawan, which is building number 72 in Nehru Place. We’re in suite 506, right near the BSES office, so it’s easy enough for people to find us once they get into the complex. Nehru Place is always a bit of a chaotic spot with all the tech shops and people running around, but we’ve gotten used to the pace. Our office is a mix of old files and some of the engineering equipment we trade in. It’s not very big, so we have to stay organized, though sometimes the stacks of paper get a bit high on the desks. We spend a lot of time on the phone or responding to emails, dealing with various traders and engineers who need specific items. It can get pretty loud during the peak hours, but that’s just Delhi for you. We usually take turns going out to get some street food for lunch, which is one of the perks of being in this area. We’ve been here long enough that we know the other shop owners and the security guards by name. It’s a community of sorts, even if it looks like a mess of concrete from the outside. We don’t have a big mission statement or anything; we just come in, do the work, and try to make sure we don’t miss any important calls. That's about all there is to it.
