Okhla Phase-1 is a busy place to be, and our spot at D-89 is right in the thick of it. The industrial area always feels like it’s moving at full speed, with trucks backing into loading bays and the sound of heavy machinery from the neighbors. Our building is a bit old, and the stairs are steep, but it serves its purpose. Inside, we have rows of shelves filled with parts and equipment that we move in and out all day long. It’s dusty and noisy, and we usually have to raise our voices to be heard over the fans. We don't have air conditioning in the main area, so the summers can be pretty tough for everyone on the floor. We keep a big water cooler near the entrance, and that’s the most popular spot in the whole place. We don't worry much about how things look as long as the orders get processed correctly. There are always lists pinned to the walls and clipboards hanging from hooks. Most of us have been working together for years, so we know the routine by heart. We take our breaks together, usually sharing food from our tiffins and talking about things other than work. When the whistle blows at the end of the shift, we’re all pretty tired, but it’s a good kind of tired. It’s just how life goes here in the heart of the industrial district.
