Ambay Medicine Corner

Ambay Medicine Corner sits at Shop No. 37, right by Safdarjung Hospital Gate No. 2. Being in Ansari Nagar, across from AIIMS, means we are right in the middle of everything. It’s a very busy part of town, and the noise from the traffic never really stops. We started this shop to be right where the action is. The space is small, as most shops around here are, but we’ve managed to fit a lot into it. There are stacks of boxes near the entrance and the shelves go all the way to the ceiling. We often have to use a small ladder to reach the stuff at the top. Because we are near the big hospitals, we see people from all over the country, not just the locals. It can be quite tiring, and sometimes we don't even have time to sit down for lunch until late in the afternoon. The air is always thick with the smell of medicine and old paper. We don't have a polished corporate look; the paint on the walls is a bit faded and the counter has some scratches. But it’s a real place where real work happens. We just try to keep the stock updated and help the people who walk through the door as best as we can. It’s a fast-paced environment and we’ve learned to work quickly under pressure because people are often in a rush here.
