Sk. Khairul Nursery

Our place, Sk. Khairul Nursery, is situated in Muchisa, in the Purba Umedpur area. If you’re looking for us, we are near the Nodakhali police station and our mail goes through the Chawlkhola post office. It’s a rural spot, which is good for what we do because we have the space for all the plants. I spend most of my day outside. My boots are almost always muddy from the watering we do. We grow a variety of things, mostly whatever grows well in our local soil. It’s a lot of work that depends on the weather. If it’s too dry, we’re constantly hauling water, and if it’s too wet, we’re digging drainage. It’s not a big corporate business. It’s just a local nursery where we do things by hand. I’ve lived around here most of my life, so I know the seasons pretty well. People from the nearby villages come by when they want to plant something new in their yards. We don’t have a website or anything like that. If you want to see what we have, you just have to come down and walk through the rows of plants. It’s a quiet life for the most part, though things get busy when the planting season starts. We just try to keep the plants healthy and keep the place running as best as we can.
