Ganga Nursery

We are out in the village of Chalkdulat, specifically the Fultala area. Our place is near Muchisha, and the Nodakhali police station isn't too far off. It’s mostly dirt and green plants out here. We spend our mornings watering everything before the sun gets too high. There is always mud on our boots. We grow a lot of different things, from small flower saplings to some larger trees. It’s a lot of physical work, digging holes and moving heavy pots around. We don’t have a fancy storefront, just rows of plants sitting in the sun. The weather dictates our whole schedule. If it rains too much, we’re out there checking the drainage. If it’s too dry, we’re dragging hoses all day. It’s a quiet life in the village. Most of our neighbors are doing similar things. We sell to people who drive out from the city or local farmers needing a few things for their yards. We don't use much technology here, just our hands and some basic gardening tools. Sometimes the birds get into the seeds, so we have to watch out for that. We’ve got some shade nets set up for the delicate ones. It’s just us and the soil, trying to keep things growing through the seasons. It’s simple, honest work that keeps us tired but satisfied. We also have a dog that stays near the gate and watches the trucks go by.
