36/1/H on Topsia Road is where you can find our shop. It is right in the Tiljala area, so it gets pretty crowded around here with all the traffic. We deal with marble slabs. They are heavy things to move around. Most of the day is spent shifting things so people can see the patterns. Marble is funny because no two pieces look exactly the same. You might find a vein in one that isn't in the other. Customers spend a lot of time walking around the yard. They touch the stone and think about their kitchens or floors. We just let them be. The floor here is always covered in a bit of white dust from the cutting. We have a small office where we sit when it’s not busy. It’s got a fan that makes a bit of noise. We aren't doing anything fancy. It’s just about having the stone ready when someone needs it. Sometimes the delivery trucks get stuck in the narrow streets near Topsia. That is always a headache. We have been working with stone for a long time. It is cold work in the winter and dusty in the summer. We don’t have a big website or anything. Most people just see the sign while driving past and stop in. We keep it simple and just focus on what is sitting in the yard. It's a living and we're used to the dust and the heavy lifting by now.
