Surve Dal Mill

You can find Surve Dal Mill over in Vidya Nagar, right in that Collage Area near the Enginering Collage. Since we are so close to the students and the campus, there’s always a lot of noise and movement outside. Our mill is a pretty basic setup. It's mostly just the heavy machines and lots of sacks of dal waiting to be processed. The air inside always has that grain smell, and fine dust covers just about everything by the end of the shift. We’ve been at this location for years, and the building definitely shows its age with some cracks in the walls and old paint. We don't have a front desk or anyone to greet you at the door. Most of the time, we are all in the back working the machines or loading up the trucks. It’s loud when the motors are running, so we usually have to shout to hear each other. We work directly with local farmers who bring their harvest to us. It’s hard, physical labor and our clothes are always messy from the work. We don't spend money on fancy signs or marketing stuff. Most people know we are here just by word of mouth or seeing the trucks parked outside. It’s a straightforward life here in Vidya Nagar. We just focus on getting the dal milled and bagged up for the local markets without any fuss. The address is easy to find if you know the college landmarks around this part of town.
