Delicacy Corner

You can find us at Shop No 8 in the Lokhandwala Residency building. That is in Nirmiti Vihar, just off Bijapur Road here in Solapur. We are quite close to Ahitya Nagar too. It’s a residential neighborhood, so it is mostly families and people living in the apartments around us. Delicacy Corner is just a small shop, really. We have a counter and a few places to sit, but it’s not meant for big parties. The Solapur heat can be really tough, so we spend a lot of time trying to stay cool inside the shop. Most of the time it is just one or two of us working here. We start the day by cleaning the shop and getting the stove going. There is a lot of prep work that goes into everything before we even open the shutters. We get a lot of people from the Lokhandwala building coming in for something quick. It’s nice because you get to know the neighbors. We don't have any fancy mission statements or corporate goals. We are just trying to run a small business and make a living like everyone else in Nirmiti Vihar. Sometimes things break down or the deliveries are late, and we just have to figure it out on the fly. It is a bit of a struggle sometimes, but that’s just how it goes when you’re running your own little corner shop. We usually stay open until about nine when most of the residency residents have settled in.
