Akbarali Adamji

We are located at number 74 in Polan Peth, right near Ashok Talkies Road. Akbarali Adamji is a family business that’s been around this area for quite a long time. The street itself is very traditional and has a lot of history to it. We don't have any of those modern glass storefronts or bright neon signs. It’s just an old-fashioned shop where we do things the way they’ve always been done. The space inside is quite narrow and packed with all sorts of things we have collected or sold over the years. We spend most of our time talking to locals who have been coming to us for decades. It’s more about the relationships we have with the people in Polan Peth than anything else. We don't have a mission statement or any corporate goals written on the wall. We just want to keep the shop running and provide what the community needs. The proximity to Ashok Talkies Road means there is always a bit of life nearby, even if the cinema itself isn't as busy as it used to be. Sometimes we just sit on the bench outside when things are slow and watch the people go by. It’s a quiet life, and we don’t feel the need to be loud or promotional about what we do. If you’re in the Peth, you’ll find us easily enough. We keep things simple and honest here.
