R. I. Engineering Works

Out here at Plot No 8 in Lokamanya Nagar, things are usually pretty busy. We are right off Hotagi Road, so there is a lot of dust and noise from the trucks going by. Our place is basically a big workshop on a plot where we do all the engineering tasks. It’s not air-conditioned or fancy, just a solid roof and the tools we need to get the jobs done. The floor is usually covered in metal shavings by the end of the day. We spend most of our time out there working on whatever project is currently on the floor. It can get really hot in the summer months, especially in the afternoons. We have a small area where we keep the records and take a break, but most of the action happens in the main shed. The neighbors in Lokamanya Nagar are mostly other businesses or small houses, so we all kind of know each other. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait a bit, but that’s just how it goes around here. We’ve been at this location for a long time and the locals know to come to the plot when they need something made or fixed. It’s a straightforward life. We open up early, work through the day, and close when the light starts to fade. It’s a bit rough around the edges, but we like it that way.
