Junior Engineer

I’m working out of Bhimnagar in Barshi, specifically at house number 231. If you know this part of Solapur, you know it gets quite warm during the day and there is always a bit of dust from the roads. Being a junior engineer here means I spend half my time at the desk and the other half out looking at things. It’s not a huge office with glass walls or anything fancy. It’s just a practical space where we keep our tools and papers. I usually start the morning by checking what needs to be done on the current projects. There is a lot of measuring and double-checking that goes on. Sometimes I have to travel a bit around the Barshi district to see how things are moving along at different sites. My bike gets a lot of use on these roads. The people around here are mostly locals, so we end up chatting quite a bit about the weather or how the town is changing. It is hard work and sometimes the paperwork piles up on my desk until I can’t see the wood anymore. I don't really have a team of people doing things for me, so I just handle what comes my way. It feels good to finish a long day and head home through the market area. We just try to keep things moving and make sure the math is right on our plans for the post Barshi projects.
