Dnyaneshwar Vishwanath More Sakhar Karkhana Limited

Out here in the village of Patordhankuroli, near Pandharpur, things move at a different pace. Our sugar factory, the Dnyaneshwar Vishwanath More Sakhar Karkhana, is a big part of the local landscape. During the crushing season, it gets very hectic. You can see the bullock carts and tractors lined up for miles sometimes, all filled with sugarcane from the nearby fields. It is a lot of noise and the smell of molasses is everywhere. We aren't some big corporate office in the city. Most of us grew up around here and know the farmers by name. The work is hard and the hours are long when the season is in full swing. We have to keep the machinery running day and night. When the season ends, it gets a bit quieter, and we spend our time on maintenance and getting ready for the next year. It’s a cycle we have been following for a long time. The dust from the fields and the steam from the factory are just things we are used to. It is a community effort, really. Everyone knows someone who works here. We just focus on getting the sugar processed and making sure the farmers get their loads weighed correctly. It is basic, honest work that keeps the village going. We are just local people doing our jobs in this corner of the world.
