About Dnyaneshar Dall Mill – Food & Beverages in Solapur
If you go behind Mona Market, you'll find us near the Rokada Hanuman Mandir. Dnyaneshar Dall Mill has been operating here for years. It's loud because of the machines, but we've gotten used to the noise over time. We process different kinds of pulses and lentils every day. The air always smells like dust and grain, which stays on your clothes even after you go home. People stop by on their way to the temple sometimes just to say hello or ask about the prices. We aren't a big factory, just a local mill doing the work manually and with some old equipment that still runs fine. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait around, which is frustrating but part of life here. My brother handles the unloading while I check the quality of what comes in. We don't have a receptionist or anything like that. If the shutter is up, we are working. We get a lot of trucks coming through the narrow lanes, which can be a bit of a squeeze for the drivers. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and making sure the husks are cleared out properly. We just try to provide clean dall to the shops nearby. It's hard work and our clothes are always covered in flour by the end of the shift. The neighborhood is changing, but the sound of our mill remains the same. We just keep our heads down and focus on the bags.
