Our place is located in Binanigram, right along the Rajasthan State Highway 62. It’s a bit out there in Pindwara, so we see a lot of long-haul drivers passing through. The highway stays pretty noisy with the trucks going back and forth all day. We’ve got a big space here because we need it for all the stock. Working in this part of Rajasthan, you get used to the sun beating down on the sheds. We spend a lot of time checking the inventory and making sure everything is where it should be. It’s a lot of logistics, really. The trucks pull in off Highway 62 and we get to work. It’s not a glamorous job, just moving heavy bags and keeping track of the paperwork in the little office room. Sometimes we have to stay late if a shipment is coming in from far away. The dust gets everywhere, even in the tea. We don’t have any fancy signs or anything. Just the name and the gate. Most people around Pindwara know where we’re at if they need a large order. It’s a practical setup. We just focus on the task at hand and try to stay out of the heat when we can. Every day is pretty much the same, just keeping the cement moving out to the different construction sites around the state.
